Love Diabetes: Foot in Mouth Safety Tips

Forever have we been advised to be mindful of diabetic feet. This vlog is no different - in fact, it's an example of why you need to watch your feet like you'd mind your business. They're just as important and likely as hard-working as the rest of us (if not more!) For more vlogs and to subscribe to "Allies Voice" - visit: http://www.alliesvoice.com

I know this is so true! I have to watch out for all kinds of infections. They just do me in when I don't pay attention to them. I feel as though my skin has gotten very thin asll over my body. Please always look after your feet every day. You never know whats going on if you don't check them. I even have a mirror to check the bottom of my feet. I also always shake out my shoes before I put them on.

Excellent video, obviously she has learned a lot through her experiences with diabetes. I am going to check out her site right now.

You really can't be too careful and watchful when it comes to your feet. As a Type 1 diabetic for 42 years, with now 15 years of treatment for foot problems, I tell my podiatrist that I'm paranoid about my feet - he applauds that! Little things can get out of hand so quickly, much less the type of injury in the video - everything with your feet is SERIOUS! Great info!

I love Allie — she does a great job providing info.

On top of that, I just happen to be sitting here writing my next newsletter article on diabetic foot care. What a coinkydink! Important topic…

Ladies Gentlemen please watch this video. I was not totally aware of these problems beforehand, but now that I have become more aware of these issues, I will be more diligently attentive to foot care. I hope that you will take the time to look at this video. Tahnk You Survivor/Alicia

One more level of care for diabetic feet is having a foot massage or Reflexology. I have a massage therapist who was and RN and decided to try Therapeutic Massages. She does reflexology massages and we talk about diabetic neuropathy and she is going to use the monofilament to test the sensitivity in my feet (which so far is very good) to set a base line. Try it sometime.
