Love Diabetes: 1 million people with $25 to CURE DIABETES

Why has the JDRF denied funding to Dr. Faustman and her research to cure Type 1 diabetes? Phase 1 has become the burden of proof that Dr. Faustman is crossing frontiers we must explore to cure type 1 diabetes and other autoimmune diseases. JDRF - if you're not part of the solution you are part of the problem. Here's my call to action: Phase 2 of Dr. Faustman's human trials are estimated to cost $25 million. If 1 million people watching this video have the wherewithal to donate $25 to Dr. Faustman's human trials at MGH - the cure for millions is unstoppable!

Good point made in this video. I have often wondered why more is not said about the research Dr. Faustman is doing. The video idea for the next president is rather silly; the president is not going to be a solution for diabetes. The question I have is why was there even a phase 1 study on a drug that has been around for over 80 years? Why not start type 1 patients, everyone that wants to, on the BCG vaccine? Dr. Faustman has said that she can absolutely cure type 1 in NOD mice, but that is not necessarily going to be the case for humans. “This is the very first step in what is likely to be a long process in achieving a cure. We first need to determine whether the abnormal autoimmune cells that underlie type 1 diabetes can be knocked out with BCG vaccination, as occurred in the mouse studies.” – Dr. Faustman. That being said, I am very thankful for the Iacocca Foundation who was the driving source of the phase 1 funding for Dr. Faustman’s research. We should not ignore the fact that JDRF was founded in 1970 by the parents of children with type 1 diabetes. JDRF has provided more than $1.16 billion to diabetes research worldwide, since 1970. I do not think they have greed as their motivation, but they are mistaken on not funding this research.

Oh, I wish that I had the answer to that one...A cure WOW, who would want to stop that? Unless they do not have diabetes themselves and do not understand the disease.....?????

I really think that is one great idea. If there is a chance for a cure the world shoud get behind it.I believe if they find a cure for type 1,then a cure for type 2 will follow.
