Fresh Pepper Slaw

Ingredients

  • 1 medium head green cabbage, shredded

  • 1 red bell peppers, diced

  • 1 yellow bell pepper diced

  • salt to taste

  • 1 cup vinegar

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar substitute

  • 2 tablespoons celery seed

Directions

  1. 1.Toss the cabbage and bell pepper together in a large bowl. Season the mixture liberally with salt; stir. Allow to sit 45 minutes; drain and return to the bowl.

  2. 2.Bring the vinegar and sugar substitute to a boil together in a saucepan. Immediately remove from heat and stir into the cabbage mixture. Add the celery seed; mix thoroughly. Chill completely before serving.

I really like cabbage and cold slaw is a fave… I have not tried one like this, so this is on my menu plan this week… thanks so much… Avera? pickle juice??? you are amazing… bet you have lots of great ideas… glad you share them with us… lol hugs

My stomach can't hadle peppers but this is different to bring to a picnic or party. I will indeed try this…Debe

two or more potatoes to be mashed, can of mixed vegatables ,small can of tomato sauce,one pound of hamburger or ground turkey, mix together meat and sauce put over mashed potatoes it is de lishous

Cabbage is one of my favorite veggies and I really like it when peppers are added. That makes the best kind of slaw. Instead of the vinegar from a bottle, I save my dill pickle juice and use it for a seasoned vinegar. It sure adds a little different taste. I am going to really like fixing this.
