Ingredients

  • 16 oz Beef, round knuckle side steak, lean, raw, select, 0" trim , cut 1 inch thick

  • 1 pinch salt and pepper

  • 1 floz fresh chopped green onion

  • 1/2 cup Ketchup

  • 1/4 cup fresh chopped green onion

  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce

  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger root , minced

Directions

  1. Combine marinade ingredients in small bowl. Cover and refrigerate 1/2 cup marinade. Place beef steaks and remaining marinade in food-safe plastic bag; turn steaks to coat. Close bag securely and marinate in refrigerator 6 hours or overnight.

  2. Remove steaks from marinade; discard marinade. Place steaks on grid over medium, ash-covered coals. Grill, covered, 12 to 14 minutes for medium rare doneness, turning once. (Do not overcook.)

  3. Carve steaks into thin slices. Season with salt and pepper, as desired. Garnish with green onions, if desired. Serve with reserved marinade.

  4. Additional Information

  5. This recipe is an excellent source of protein, niacin, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, selenium and zinc; and a good source of iron.

Would like to try this - but don't understand the 1 fl oz fresh chopped green onion - should that be something else? How do you measure a fluid ounce of green onion? And green onion is mentioned later as well. Thanks.

This looks great! I have a problem with foods high in "carbs;" I like them! The carb level in this recipe is quite low, and that is a real benefit!

Thanks!
