Qatayef with nuts

Ingredients

  • Ingredients

  • • 1/2 kg katayef

  • • Vegetable oil ,for deep-frying

  • • Sugar syrup

  • • Hazelnut ,blanched

  • • Walnuts ,blanched

  • • Pistachios ,peeled

  • • Almonds ,blanched

  • • Raisins

  • • 2 tablespoons sugar

Directions

  1. Cooking Instructions

  2. • Mix nuts in a bowl and add sugar and raisins.

  3. • Stir to mix ingredients well.

  4. • Put nuts mixture in the center of each katayef depending on its size and close into a half moon shape.

  5. • Press on the edges with your fingers to stick together well.

  6. • Heat oil over high heat until very hot.

  7. • Deep-fry katayef in oil until golden brown.

  8. • Dip fried katayef while still hot in cool syrup and stir for a few seconds.

  9. • Serve on platter while hot.

I'm from Turkey so that know kadayif very well.

how to make katayef
katayef is sort of mixed
3/half cup flower
2/half cup water
Half little spoon salt
Pig spoon Baking Powder
Pig spoon Dry Yeast
2 Pig spoon sugar

1- Mix all the Ingredients in the electric blinder and add the water step by step.
2- Leave the mix for one hour it will go higher.
3- Hot on the stove a middle pot non stick.
4- Put from the mix by cup in the pot until it comes around like small cercal about 15 cm.
5- When its get little brownish take it out from the pot and leave it till gets cold.

This is katayef and continue the recipe as described.

This sounds interesting. What is Katayef? I'm guessing it is some kind of dough maybe?
