8 cooking apples, peeled, cored and chopped
1/2 cup Splenda
1 tbsp. cinnamon
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1. Place apples in a 5-quart pot. Add Splenda, cinnamon, lemon juice, and vanilla. Add just enough water to cover half the apples (to prevent a watery sauce).
2.) Bring apples to boiling; reduce to a simmer until apples are soft.
3.) Hand-blend or mash apples to desired consistency. Serve warm or cold.

May 11, 2009 3:31 PM It is a recipe I found at a Super Wal-mart. I am hoping to make it one of these days as well as I love applesauce. And with this recipe you can at least use Splenda instead of sugar. |

May 9, 2009 6:55 AM I've always loved fresh applesauce. What I don't love are the "little bit more than I should eat carbs." This recipe is so easy I must try it and I will eat less to keep the carbs down. |
