Cinnamon Rice

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup rice 1 cup water 1 Tbsp fat-free milk 2 Tbsp raisins 1 tsp low-calorie margarine 1/2 tsp sugar 1/4 tsp cinnamon

Directions

  1. In a small saucepan, bring rice, water, milk, and raisins to a boil, stirring occasionally. Lower heat, cover tightly, and cook 15 minutes on low until liquid is absorbed and rice is tender.Mix sugar and cinnamon together and sprinkle over rice to serve. Number of Servings: 2

i used to fix this one for my kids when they were young. now they fix it for their kids. a great recipe to pass on!

This dish sounds oriental and I am sure will make a nice side dish. It is also easy to make.It has my vote.

My son-in-law's daughter often cooks rice on her days to cook. I'll bet you could make this with cooked rice by adding the milk to cooked rice. Also I am the crasin lady and prefer them to raisins. Gives the taste a little pizzaz.
