Golden Cornbread

Ingredients
1 cup all purpose flour
1 cup yellow cornmeal
1/2 cup Splenda
1 Tbsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup 2% milk
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
Directions
Combine flour, cornmeal, Splenda, baking powder and salt in a medium sized bowl. Stir in milk, oil,and egg just until all ingredients are moistened.
Spread mixture in 8-inch square pan well sprayed with cooking spray. Bake in preheated 425*F oven for 20 to 23 minutes or until a wooden pick incerted in center comes out clean. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Add your commentI am worried about the Splenda here, it's a chemically altered sweetener. You could use Xylitol with the same results and a healthier choice IMHO.
While this is GREAT!!! it is not low carb.
i think this is a great recipe am going to try this when i have company, as i have been known to eat cornbread til its gone!

Being from the South, all cornbread is right up there with my favorite things. This one is great. And…you get a fairly big piece and just 22g of carbs.
