Easy Holiday Shortbread Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (two sticks) unsalted butter, softened

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

  • 2 Tbsp packed light brown sugar

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 2 cups all purpose flour

Directions

  1. Beat butter, powdered sugar,brown sugar and salt in a large bowl with electric mixer at medium speed 2 minutes or until light and fluffy. Add flour, 1/2 cup at a time, beating well after each addition. Shape dough into 14 inch long log. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap, refrigerate 1 hour.

  2. Preheat oven to 300*F. Cut log into 1/2 inch slices; place on ungreased cookie sheets

  3. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool 5 minutes on cookie sheets; transfer to wire racks to cool completely.

  4. Makes 28 cookies
