I just started on the pump and found the quick set infusions sets are easy to use.

Pros

Easy to use. No reaction to the adhesive to keep in place. Only have to change once every 2-3 days meaning less pokes. Adhesive stays well bonded even with three showers before changing.

Cons

small poke.

This was the second type of Minimed infusion set that I used. I started using it instead of the Sof-set as soon as the Quick-set came on the market. Now, I use this set from time to time but it is not my preferred set. This seems to be MiniMed's "default" set.

There are 2 length of cannula 6 cm and 9 cm. The 6 cm should only be used by children and the very thin.

Pros

This is probably the easiest Minimed set to insert with its inserter. It can also be inserted manually.

The set is very easy to connect and disconnect.

Cons

Many people have found this set to be prone to kinking and partial blockage. While not the entire dose of insulin is being delivered, there is not alarm to indicate this. This can lead to unexplained high blood sugars.

It has been a couple of years since I used a pump, so I'm not sure how this compares to the newer sets. However it was very good for me.

Pros

Easy to use, stayed in place even when very active, and never had any problems with the flow.

Cons

Realy did not find any.
