Non fat milk

Submitted by Turtle — July 9 at 11:51 pm

As soon as I was diagnosed with diabetes, I made some radical changes in my diet. I immediately went from 2% milk to non fat. It only tasted weird to me for about a week because I knew it was best for me. I continue to use this milk and although I have not lost much weight I am losing inches. I highly recommend non fat milk.

When I was a kid, I drank whole milk; couldn't stand anything less. Now, the only time I drink milk is when I mix it with a Carnation Instant Breakfast, so I don't mind the thinner milk.

I have changed to non-fat milk and although I am not much of a milk drinker, I use it in my cereal and all of my cooking and baking. It has not done a thing for my weight but I am sure I must be helping my healthwise.

Pros

It is fine when you get used to it and it is reducing the fat in the diet, especially if you are a big user of milk. I use it in my sugar free puddings as well.

Cons

Just that it has not made a difference in my weight.

Growing up on a dairy farm, we used to drink the milk fresh from the tank. I could never understand why poeple would want to drink "blue milk" as we would call it.I just can't do that anymore and I switched to nonfat and it is ok.

Pros

I don't drink alot of milk, but when I do I drink nonfat.
