November 14, 2009 1:31 AM i have been on several other products that have not worked as well as this one. I am pleased with the way this works. Others noticed a change in my moods for the better and commented on it. So, it must be working. It does make me a little drowzy but I take it at bed time so this is not an issue. Pros:Able to control my manic shopping that goes with my depression!!! Much better attitute and more pleasant to be around. It is most definately working with little to no side effects. Cons:The only side effect I have found is that I do sweat a bit now. Never did that before. But I can put up with that. |

November 7, 2009 8:10 PM I have been on Paxil CR, Effexor (the time released one also) and I forget what else. This was not only the cheapest being one of those $4 ones but it has been wonderful with little if any side effects. I don't know because of other meds. My doctor called it a lovely little pill and he was right. I know it sounds weird but HEY it is lovely when you don't gain weight from it like the others and don't feel suicidal etc. |

November 5, 2009 3:25 PM I went back on it after reading here how many people felt better. I had stopped taking it afraid I was feeling cloudy but realized how "not nice" I was feeling even to myself. To the woman with the sweats...is your BS running low? I can be in a freezer but when BS drops I get soaked and I am over my hot flashes etc after surgery. Hard to be a woman when you have other issues too and don't know what to blame. Good luck.....you will see lots of positives here on this med which is why I went back on it. PS my doc didn't know I stopped it. Pros:Never really had side effects from it although I do take it when home and able to go to bed if I must. I have so much going on that I don't know for sure what knocks me out at times. I did take it early one day by mistake and felt "out of body" I wasn't sleep but felt scared about how it hit me as I was driving and cut my trip short and went home. I have two pills that look the same. Now I have two weekly dispensers and keep one for day pills and one for nights and they are different colors. Cons:Sometimes a feeling of not taking things seriously however considering the alternative at times I would rather be calm. I do lack certain emotions or over-react in tears sometimes though. Usually for me it is with animals. I guess I have to accept I am not quite right but I feel so much better than the woman I was. I've been on 3 other meds and they made me not want to be here anymore if you get my drift. Now I can think my way through things and be nice. |

November 1, 2009 9:56 AM Just started taking it Oct 7, and it took about 3 weeks to start feeling like my old self. Pros:Seems to like the funk I found myself in. Took about 3 weeks to notice the difference. Cons:Was very queezy the first morning, and felt yucky for about a week. Primary told me to take it with food so I switched from bed to dinner-time and that helped. Diminished my appetite because of that and found that by wearing a patch for motion sickness, I could tolerate it until my body got used to it. Not sure if it is making my hot flashes worse, but I am sweating a lot. |

September 27, 2009 2:08 PM I've been taking this for years, and it's one of the only anti-depressants that has virtually no side effects. I take it with another med and the combined cocktail works wonders for me. Pros:It helps with my depression. I'm not nice to be around without it. Cons:It can make you tired, but really, it hasn't affected my activities even if I take it in the morning. |

September 26, 2009 3:30 AM I am on this medication as well and it works for me...I do take mine at night which is what my doctor recommended...I notice if I take it too late at night (i.e., 10 pm) that I am very drowsy in the a.m. Pros:I am on it mostly for anxiety and it does help me. Cons:Drowsiness, as above. |

September 3, 2009 4:20 PM Have been on this for a couple of years and had no problems with it although didn't feel 100%. I stopped taking it and started to feel more human but now realize I still need it. Dr has taken me off my anti-anxiety med and said it was a depressant. I had been taking both together. I just started back on it but find I must take it at night or feel out of it. Hopefully this will balance me just right. Does anyone have a pro or con in regard to weight gain from it? One of the reasons I did not want to be back on it because I need to lose weight. I know I still need this because I realize I am clear-headed but irritable and more aggressive which is not who I am as a rule. I never spoke my mind and now I think I speak it too much....not a good thing necessarily. Pros:No suididal thoughts .... had been on 3 others that made me feel worse than I was and out of control I honestly did not have trouble coming off it on my own although was told that it can be dangerous. I could not afford my meds and then I realized how clear my head felt when not taking. Cons:drowsy if taken in the a.m. Dr. suggested at bedtime which is what I will do as I go back on it. |
