I Have the same system, here it is called life line. I have a necklace and a bracellet. I wear the necklace in the daytime and the other is on my nightstand.
Pros
have used it and I would not want to be without it.
Wonderful idea, especially for those who live alone. I have a friend (80 yo) whose husband was in a nursing home so she did a lot of things around the house she wouldn't normally do. She was outside (about 9 am) picking up small branches from a storm and fell. She wasn't able to get herself up and although she hollered for quite a bit, no one heard her. Most neighbors worked and it wasn't until her next door neighbor came home for lunch around noon, that she got help.
Pros
It has been a life saver for her.
Cons
Even though there is an expense, it can be worth it to some who have experienced needing the help.
I now how one. I can't seem to remember to put it on in the AM. I do key it on when I am by myself in the house in case I fall and can't crawl to the phone.
Pros
Get yell for them to get a hold of 1 of 3 of my incase of emergency people on the list. If they can't get ahold of one of them they automatically call an ambulance.
Cons
I hate to wear it, but do try and remember while home here in the house by myself.
I once volunteered to sit with an elderly woman twice a week in the evening. She had one of these… she lived alone, and she told me that it saved her life to have it because if she falls she can't get up alone. She told me that one night after she was helped into her bed and everyone had left she decided to go get something out side, and she fell and couldn't get up. She was wearing the necklace, and if she had not been she would have frozen to death out there. She said she didn't do anything that dumb anymore, but that she once fell in her bathroom and was able to get help fast… I was impressed that this service exists…
ambulance is automatically disbatched in emergancy with the push of a button. and informed of all your conditions & meds. has been a life saver for me.
Cons
cost. monthly fee for something you may not never have to use.
