Avandia and Metformin combination pill. I took avandamet for a while. It kept my blood sugar levels low. Unfortunately, my cholesterol levels went up and I gained weight. I asked my doctor to take me off of this med.

I don't know about the cholesterol levels. My worry is with all of the stuff going on in the media and the newspapers about the avandia, I am wondering if I should have my doctor to switch to another medication?
