Prozac (fluoxetine hydrochloride)

was using this med for depression,had bad side affect was taken off of it

I was on a number of meds and unfortunately, this did not work for me. I was still depressed and suicidal. Don't give up though, keep trying meds until you find the one that is right for you.

It worked for me for several years, but then my Oncologist took me off of it because it interfered with the Tamoxifen I was taking for Breast Cancer. I had not read that in any of the literature. She said there were only a few SSI antidepressants that were safe with Tamoxifen.

It worked for me for about 9 yrs. and then I started having depression again and the Dr. said that in some people it will stop being of help and there will need to be a change.

I loved it and felt quite good for quite a while. Too bad it didn't last.

Prozac (I take the generic) has worked for me in helping with my fibromyalgia to replace the seritonin so I can sleep a little better and handle my pain levels a lot easier. The doctor switched me to Cymbalta for awhile, but I became depressed with it. So I am back to the Prozac and doing better again. The Cymbalta effects are just about all gone.

Really helps.

A little weight gain - but a lot more with Cymbalta.

I used this for my depression and anxiety and it worked for me.

It brought me up to a normal feeling and sometimes I called them my "happy pills".

If you forget to take them, I crashed and after awhile I think my system got used to it and it wasn't working as well.

fluxitin or prozac what ever you want to call it didnt work for me

I used this when my son left for college

It helped to relax me

It didn't work for very long and I was changed to Zoloft

WORKS WELL FOR ME AS I HAVE PANIC ATTACKS

i tried this several years ago.

It didn't work for me.

I had no issues while on it, but my body became used to it so I had to switch meds.

No side affects and when I took myself off of it I had no residual effects.

Loss of sexual appetite bothered me.

Did not work for me

This is a great product. I am unable to use it at this time, but I would recommend it for others.

Little to no withdrawl symptoms, countracts withdrawls from other medications and it is enters the full system without disrupting many other medications.

Does not work for everyone.

My daughter is Bi Polar and it had horrible effects on her - she totally flipped out and had to be tied on a streacher to get to the hospital…I may help some people, but if you are Bi Polar - it certainly needs caution

It worked for a time and then it went kaput on me. The depression got much worse and so did the crazy thoughts of suicide too. I ended up on 80 mgs of it before it was all said and done.

High tendency of Suicidal tendencies
Should be monitored very closely by you and your Dr.
Do not stop taking suddenly.

I've been taking Prozac for 10 years and originally it was prescribed because the doctor told me that diabetes upsets the chemicals in the brain and I might become depressive. I found that I didn't become depressive, but my pre menstrual tension disappeared and so did the "mood swings" I always got 3 days before a period. I've tried not taking it for a while now, but I do notice a change of mood (much less bubbly and teary), so I'm sticking with them. I'm on 60mg daily.

Keeps my moods even, balanced and calm.

Can't stop taking them or depression and mood swings set in now, although I'm not a "natural" depressive.

i am currently on this medicine. My mother says I am easier to live with while on this medicine.

My memory is vauge but I recall my mother saying it did me good when a teen
