Although I've heard this medication is very good at lowering cholesterol, I have not been able to stay on it long enough to find out. Within days of starting it My muscles began aching. It affected muscles in my back, my thighs, my calves, even my feet. Of course, the doctor took me off of it immediately.
ProsFor many people, it very effectively lowers cholesterol and triglycerides.
ConsAs a statin, it can harm your muscles.
