Add your reviewI use a walker for long trips of walking. I also use a cane.
At one time I used a wheelchair. This was do to a diabetic seizure I had when I fractured my Femur bone.
i have walkers, canes and a wheelchair. sometimes between the fibromyalgia and the diabetic neuropathy, I have to use the wheelchair. I am 38 so those are my bad days. I also have my good days when i don't need to use anything, mostly I use my cane.

I love my walker. I also have to use wheelchair for when I need to be on my feet like cooking, washing dishes, housework in general. The wheelchair is for degeneration of spine.
ConsWatch out for loose rugs, haha
I use my walker all the time to be able to walk with the neuropathy pain in my legs. Sometimes the walker holds me up. Now I have osteoarthritis and my walker is now doubly valuable. I hope not for life but for now it's absolute.
ProsStability while walking and even holding me up. Also, the seat is wonderful to have to sit down when I'm exhausted.
ConsHaving to transport the walker is difficult at times. You can't use stairs, not tha I really could. People don't always have very good reactions to me when they see me in line with them or going where they are going.
I love my walker. It has the seat and basket, as well, so I can sit when I need. I usually use it when I have dizzy spells due to damage in my inner ear, but I also use it when neuropathy and/or fibromyalgia keep me down. Currently I'm using it because I broke my ankle in a fall down the stairs 2 weeks ago. Ouch! I'm so thankful I have one.
ProsHandy, portable, light weight, so many uses!
ConsAbsolutely none!
I kept falling, and finally got a walker with seat/wheels and a basket.
ProsMade a big difference in my mobility,
I use it only on uneven ground now, but,
always keep it in my car. just in case
Got me out and walking.
ConsSaved me from falling.
none, for me.
I have a walker, had to use it after knee surgeries… When I was first going for walks again, I'd use it to when I went for short walks. Then I graduated to a cane, then free. I kept it however and after my bike accident I was glad I had one… I still use it on days when fibromyalgia flare ups are especially bad… with knee replacement, falling is a disaster… Most of the time I don't need one, but it is a good thing to have available…
Prossafety
Conscould get more dependent on them than we need to be… something to be aware of…
I have a walker, use it for knee problems mainly but have a cane for my diabetic neuropathy to use when having troubles.
ProsHelp to get around for basic things.
ConsOf course not able to move around normally, but I just feel so low when I have to use either one…kind of not human which I know is not the case but its just something inside my head that gets to me. weird eh?
I had to use a walker for 8 months last year when I broke my knee. I couldn't use crutches. Then I moved to a cane for a couple of months and now I only use the cane to get up and down our front step.
ConsWalkers make ur arms real tired especially when u use one without wheels on and u have to lift it to get around. Like I had to do.
I use a rollator which is a walker with a bench and a basket underneath the seat. I use it because of my backlegs and heart.
ProsHave a place to sit when legs or back gives out.
ConsI'm too young for this.
I have used a walker since 2000 when I had back surgery that was no help. I got a lot worse.
Pros3 years ago my brother got me a walker with 4 wheels and a seat. It's wonderful.
ConsIt's hard to get doors open.
I have one that my dr got for me with wheels, and helped the most. however due to the arthritis with bone spurs in my shoulders I rely more on my electric wheelchair to get me around.
Prosmuch more stable and fewer falls than with the cane to get around.
Consunable to use it when pain level is up in my shoulders. as I can't even use my arm(s) at all sometimes.
I have never used one but I got one for my dad before he died of cancer throughout his whole body.
I have spinal stenosis so I use a cane most of the time and use a walker when I am outside on uneven ground or like at a fair or the mall or somewhere there is going to be alot of walking.
ProsI have a walker that has a seat on it so I can sit a minute and relieve the pain.It also has a nice size basket on it which comes in handy.
ConsMake sure it folds up easily. Mine is a larger size walker & even folded up it won't fit in the trunk of the car.
I have used one before when I was having problems with my hip. It worked well for me. Now I use a cane from time to time.
ProsNow they have them with baskets to carry things in and a seat to rest on when tired.
I have a walker and have had to use it a few times. My firsy gout flare up I used a walker. Then i had been in the hospital three weeks with my legs swollen up.
ProsI couldn't get to the bathroom without it or any where else.
ConsNone. They are good when you need them. Crutches are not for me.
No I have never used one because I can't grip well enough.
