I never thought of it in that way, and it's just something I just love to do in the summer months. It's a good stress reliever

Keeps my wife thin and happy! She in turn keeps me happy which keeps the stress factor lower and that helps to maintain good blood sugar!

Pros:

Beautiful flowers all around! Great fresh vegetables to munch on!

Cons:

Fighting insects!

Gardening has always been my therapy. It's the one place no one wants to bother you..lol..they're always afraid you'll want them to dig holes! With both my son's deployments it's the only time I have to myself and it helps keep my mind off worrying. This year I have vegetables and lots of new flowerbeds at my farm in E Texas. A place that's kind of a culminations of my grandmother, mother and my green thumbs! :-)

Pros:

relaxing, productive

Cons:

Put me in Lowe's or Home Depot on the days they're having a sale and I'm in big trouble!

We have about an acre to take care of, and gardening and working in my yard is my main form of exercise. I love to get out there, and I don't mind getting a little sweaty and dirty. My husband is visually impaired, so the mowing and weed-eating fall to me, which suits me just fine. Right now, I am working on clearing brush along two sides of the property. Very satisfying to see the results - both for the yard, and for me!
