June 13, 2009 4:40 PM I take 1800 mg daily for both fibromyalgia pain and Bipolar Disorder. It seems to work well for both, not at all on my neuropathy though. Tried Lyrica and thought it was AWFUL! Lyrica made me very sick. Neurontin does not. Pros:Takes away a lot of the skin and mucle pain I get with fibromyalgia. Works well at mood stabilization for my Bipolar Disorder. Few, if any, side effects. Cons:Need to take a pretty high doseage. |

June 13, 2009 4:18 PM it turns out that it wasn't this medicine making me sick... it is my cholesterol medication making me sick... I have been on the same medication for five years, and evidently, my body is kicking it out... doesn't like it anymore... not working for me, so I'll be changing statin drug... amazing what we go through with our collective dependency on perscription drugs... makes me think we are being manipulated by the Drug companies... this would be a great SciFi theme wouldn't...??? lol but, hey, taking them is helping me to have a higher quality of life, dependent or not... that's the way it is for our culture... guess the human race is just breaking down collectively... maybe we all need to get serious about demanding going back to nature, starting from the ground we grow our foods in... and pay the farmers and teachers more than we pay athelets, Entertainers, and Wall Street tycoons... and oh yeah, politicians.... lol |

June 13, 2009 4:04 PM I have been using this now for almost 2 months at 300 mg twice a day and it stopped the pain in my toes at night after I did not care to pay my ten times higher co-payment for the Lyrrica, which also worked well but at an outrageous price. Pros:It helped me and is much more economical and costs me a fraction of my co-payment for Lyrica. Hallelujah for Generics! Cons:none |

June 11, 2009 4:52 PM I just started taking this drug. I'm working into the dosage gradually, the doctor said it would take two weeks to work up to two times a day doses, 300mg in the am, and 600mg in the eve. The first day of taking 300mg am, and 300mg pm, made me very ill in the middle of the night, my bs shot up forty points... I'm fine this morning, and bs is normal again, so it if does it again today, I'll call my doctor regarding the affect... I can't see two weeks of this being necessary... I do have a reduction of the nerve pain already effident howevere... I was also put on Tramidol, sp...? with it. hope to find the right med soon... neuropathy sucks!
too soon to say Cons:seems that it is making me sick, but too soon to be certain it is this med causing it... will check back after I have more evidence that it is... |

June 11, 2009 12:47 PM I not only have neuropathy, but I have a dead psyatic nerve that doesn't feel dead to me. I have to take Gabapentin 800 mg 3to4 times a day with tramadol 50 mg to do me any good. One without the other no good. Pros:It takes away my pain. No side affects for me other than I can fall asleep if I lay down. Not good for watching tv laying down. Cons:It takes a long time to work and does not last long enough. |

May 21, 2009 9:26 PM I was on this for about two years. It seemed to work at first, but my dosage had to keep being upped and I made it to the maximum dosage recommended very quickly. My Dr. even tried adding dilantin along with it to see if that would boost it but it didn't. Now I take Lyrics, not exactly a light dose and I still get some nerve pain. Pros:Works for a little bit when you first start taking it. Cons:Doesn't last. Stopped taking it 6 months or so after I maxed. |

May 12, 2009 5:48 PM I had nerve damage from lipitor that made a nerve in my leg get hot to the touch & feel like it was going to jump out of my leg. Pros:I consider this drug to be a wonder drug. I wouldn't be able to walk at all without it. I take 600mg four times per day. Cons:Don't like taking it 4 times per day, but I have to for nerve damage relief. |
