Category: Oral Prescription This is for diabetic neuropothy. has any one had any experience with this? I was looking for the good,bad or ugly about this medication. |

September 14, 2009 7:41 AM I used Gabpentin for my diabetic neuropathy. But had really bad swelling.
It does relieve the diabetic neuropathy pain and other related pain. Cons:It can cause swelling in lower extremities. |

September 14, 2009 4:45 AM This product works for me. I do not use it for neuropathy. I use iut because my arthritis hurts so bad at night I can not sleep and my stomach ties in knots from the pain. Pros:Relieves the pain in my knees well enough that I can do things that require sitting, standing, most forms of mobitilty. Also tones down the pain enough that I can go to sleep. I do not have a groggy feeling when I take it, and I do NOT wake up feeling groggy or hung over. This is a big thing for me as I am what some people call "drug-sensitive" Cons:The side effect of shaky hands has so far been a 24-7 situation. Does not have as good an effect when the rains come. |

September 14, 2009 2:50 AM I took Gabapentin for many years. I found that I had mood swings and there was really no pain relief. |

September 13, 2009 4:05 PM My dad is only able to take the brand name Nurontin. when he was at home we always made sure he had the brand name. He was able to walkl much better with it. But now that he is in a nursing/rehab facility he is no longer walking.There is very little I can do at this point untill he is medically ready to come home. It really breaks my heart to see him in there...... |

September 2, 2009 7:25 PM I am at 600mg daily falling asleep does not help with pain at all . Severe back ache and knee weakness . I have to take Oxy 20 mg twice daily for pain plus plus....Hydromorphone and Hydrocodone Pros:none Cons:see above |

September 2, 2009 2:20 PM Pretty good , but with precaution too much will make ya "slow " feeling or groggy. Pros:Works very well for relieving pain. Cons:Tended to make me too lethargic if taken as originally prescribed, some back pain still (i think this causes it ) |
