I have been using it for about 4-5 months. It helped to lower my A1C from 9 down to 7.2. I take 10 units every night.

Works as intended.

Was put on it and my doctor took me off ALl oral meds my sugar shot way up in the 300's. (it had been 180) So I started back on my glmipirade and my metformin and then split the Levimir in half 50 at night 50 in Am according to the Diabetes instructors advice and i am doing great as long as i do not go off on a eating spree.

Pros

Finally working and finally getting 120 numbers

Cons

None really

Unfortunetly it did not work for me they put me back on Lantus until I get my pump. Lantus seems to be working a little better.

Pros

No side effects

Cons

Did not work for me

Between this, Novolog and Byetta I have finally gotten really good control over my BG levels. I am using 20 units instead of the 8 listed in the description.

Additionally, major changes to my previous diet and a increased focus on exercise has also helped me achieve my goal of lowering my A1C.

Pros

I only have to inject once with this one unlike that Byetta and the Novolog, usually a few hours after my evening meal.

Cons

Have experienced some higher fasting numbers first thing in the a.m (DP) and wonder if I might be going low at night while I sleep — may need to split the dose up into an a.m. and p.m. (I'd like to be able to reduce the amount of shots a day — not add more lol!)

I started today and am taking 20 units in morn and night.

Pros

Covered by my insurance and is not suppose to make you gain as much weight as Lantus

Cons

I have mine in the vial I need to get that changed.

I use the levemir flex pen

Pros

it is easier to carry with you than a syringe and vial. I also think it feels less painful

Pros

Handy, easy to use, less messy than a traditional needle.

Cons

Some of the pens are a little sticky to use and it is a little more expensive than the bottles of levemir.

I am taking this now. I take it twice per day, morning and night. I love using a pen and this one is very easy. I am new to insulin and am Type 2 . Still trying to see how many units work for me.

Pros

Easy to use, easy to carry if needed, and easy to store.

Cons

Costs a bit more than some.

Pros

Don't have to take as often.

Cons

None really other than it makes me swell—and of course that is not pleasant.
