Aloe Vera Gel

By Gabby Added at September 2, 2008 Views 651 Reviews 12 4.14607 stars

This is a recipe my husband's therapist gave him. We drink it every day. Aloe Vera arthritis dietary aid:
8oz. water (cold is best)
2-4oz Aloe Vera whole leaf gel or juice
2T apple cider vinegar
Agave Nectar to taste

I drink this every morning with my breakfast to help with my joints and arthritis. It has kept me off meds and I notice a big difference when I am not drinking it. It is an aquired taste, and if you mix it with more water, you can dilute the aloe and vinegar.

I keep it around for burns and works great, but you can buy it in bottles at some health food stores, but my stomach would not tolorate it.

aloe vera gel is healing for the skin and not known to be toxic as food… This sounds like something of a personal choice… hard to say what actually helps or not… if you believe in it, it probably isn't hurting anything… I couldn't abide the taste…

Aloe Vera Gel or any product with this as and ingredient is good unless you do have allergies or sensitive skin. For those who are, you have to be careful of any product that you use regardless to what it may be. I have used products with Aloe in it and have had no negative reactions, but not everyone is the same and I do have severe allergies. The only thing I can suggest is to be cauious with its use and discuss any new product with your doctor or allergist before making a decision.

Pros

Aloe is a miricle herb. It does wonders for many ailements, inflimation is one of it's specialties.
It can keep you off meds and it does great things for regulating your digestion.
I have also heard it helps stablize our BG, but I cannot tell if it does.

Cons

The gel takes some getting used to drinking, but it works best.
The cost can add up, specially if you are drinking 4oz a day.
