I started gaining wait rapidly! Obviously counterproductive! I stopped taking it! There were and are alternatives.

It seems to help some people.

Because of the bad hype on this drug, I shy away from it. Why take a chance if you have a choice.

I really liked avandia. It lowered my bs and I had no side effects. Doctor took me off Avandia and put me Actos. Liked the control avandia gave me.

Controls BG and doesn't cause weight gain.

There are many claims that avandia cause serious health risks.

This drug did not work for me, gained 28lbs in 2 1/2 wks.

This was given in combination with another medicine

Too EXPENSIVE!!!!! This medicine is definitely not for people on fixed incomes ...there is no generic brand of this medicine.

This is from what I see a somewhat dangerous med. There are many lawsuits against this med's manufacturer. It brought down my levels some, but also added water in my heart sac, and other aresas, and I gained over 35 lbs in 2 months. Then it got harder to breath and had other issues with it and then was switched to Metformin. Then I instantly started to breath better again with in weeks and lost 40+ lbs with in a few months.

Added water in heart sac. Gained weight from the retaining of water in heart sac and other areas of 35 lbs with in 2 months. Got hard to breath which was scary. Then Dr. was worried too, we switched meds and instantly, started to breath better again with in weeks, lost 40+ lbs with in a few months. And right after that time happened, all these law suits started against Avandia and it's makers and I agree with them it's over all a dangerous med.

Avandia did work for me and i didn't end up with any of the medical issues others faced. However I did stop taking it and went back to what was really helping me... Metaformin

Did not upset my stomach and make me nauseated

Did not help with my weight loss like Metoformin did.

It seemed to be working for me, but after appx 1 year of using it I had congestive heart failure. My doctor said that it was caused by the avandia.

took avandia for 2 years. helped keep sugar to acceptable levels. just recently had to switch to another med because insurance changed formulary.

easy to take. once a day in the morning. no sugar dump, kept levels in acceptable range all day.

caused a lot of swelling, especially in ankles and feet.

I took Avandia with Glucovance and had wondrous results with my BS levels. I had taken it since 2002. I started hearing about all the problems that other ppl were having with it and I finally got my Dr. to take me off of it when they came out with the Byetta. I have had worse control over my BS levels ever since coming off of the Avandia though. But on the other hand, I have stopped falling down as much and I have stopped having so many chest pains and breathing problems that my CPAP machine does not get the constant work out like it always did in the past. GO figure.

It did help lower BS levels.
Kept them down to an excellent level

Caused me to go on a CPAP machine while taking it.
Had to start taking medicine also for edema.
Kept falling constantly while on it.
