This seems to be a good diabetic medicine. There is no weight gain with this.
Januvia is a DPP-4 inhibitor (blocker). DPP-4 blockers enhance the body's own ability to control blood sugar levels. It is a once-a-day prescription pill.

Pros
It helped keep my bg's lower, but… see cons
Cons
It states there is a possibility of swelling in feet, hands, legs, and other places. Well.. I have a heart condition and have to keep swelling away always with Lasix.. that wasn't even enough to keep all the swelling I had from Januvia away. It's a good drug if you can tolerate it and the swelling etc.

Seems to be working really well for me.
Cons
cost is quite high.

works very well but very expensive even with insurance

I took Januvia for about a year in combination with Glyburide/Metformin.
Cons
The combination did not control my BS well - it was all over the place. I would wake up at night with a BS of 37 or have a BS of 298 in the middle of the day. Very expensive also.

My doctor just perscribed this and so far it seems to be working well. My sugar levels are the best they have been in awhile
