May 10, 2009 2:22 PM I only take metformin one time a day but I take 2 when I do take it. It seems to work for me. I take it with glipizide and insulin shot all at night. Pros:It seems to help keep my sugar under control. Cons:the dosage seems to be a lot to take |

May 10, 2009 9:30 AM I take the prescribed 500 MG twice a day dose and it keeps my glucose levels within 10-20 points of my tolerance levels. A proper diet helps control glucose levels on top of it which brings it down to normal. Pros:WORKS GREAT! as long as you don't miss doses and you watch your diet. Very inexpensive also. 4 month supply runs me about $16.00 without any prescription plan. Cons:Very rarely but occasionally still have to take a unit or two of Humilin depending on if I let my diet slip a bit. |
