Just started this medicine 3 weeks ago. I take a couple of other meds. One of them has constipation as a side effect and the Metformin has diarrhea as a side effect. Instead, I'm getting horrible gas and mild cramping.

Pros:

It has lowered my BS about some and I don't have any trouble taking it.

Cons:

Gas, cramping, but as I said, it could be just how it interacts with my other meds. I'll ask my Dr. about it in 2 weeks.

I am on 1,000 MG twice a day and while my sugar is doing well it actually has been a little bit low I think I am overmedicated

Pros:

It works well for me

Cons:

I do get dizzy and stomach upset from it occasionally

I started on Metformin and it worked fine with the exception of the digestive issues then I went on Lantus. The Lantus was not only very expensive, but also it was harder to control my BS. Went back on the Metformin and doing a much better time at controlling the BS. I can deal with the digestive problems.

Pros:

It works.

Cons:

Digestive problems, they seem to go away after a while though

new on it since July. I take it once a day with food in the a.m. Knock wood I've felt a bit off but not as bad as the enclosures with it tells you may happen

Pros:

I had been so hungry and felt starved all of the time even when I ate and felt sick I was so full. Now after only a couple of weeks it seems that my appetite is gone and if anything I have to remember to eat and drink.

Cons:

A little bit queasy and headaches if I don't eat. I usually have a headache anyway so who can tell what this is from.

If you don't eat your meals and snacks you will feel it. Last week was a stunner for me. All of a sudden I felt as though I could not move or talk etc. I must have been shutting down or something. I guess that means the pill is working and doing what it should and I need to do the same

I just started the Metformin in July. I only had a week of GI problems, but now it is fine. I am running about 130-160 and was low as 96.

Pros:

I have not seen the weight loss yet, I will know in a few days.

Cons:

BIG pills

It is not for everybody.

Pros:

It works for a little while and it does everything it says it going to do.

Cons:

In the long run you will be taking Imodium AD for the rest of your life cause it ruins your stomach. I know. It happened to me. It messed my stomach up.
