August 13, 2009 12:11 PM Just started this medicine 3 weeks ago. I take a couple of other meds. One of them has constipation as a side effect and the Metformin has diarrhea as a side effect. Instead, I'm getting horrible gas and mild cramping. Pros:It has lowered my BS about some and I don't have any trouble taking it. Cons:Gas, cramping, but as I said, it could be just how it interacts with my other meds. I'll ask my Dr. about it in 2 weeks. |

August 13, 2009 4:05 AM I started on Metformin and it worked fine with the exception of the digestive issues then I went on Lantus. The Lantus was not only very expensive, but also it was harder to control my BS. Went back on the Metformin and doing a much better time at controlling the BS. I can deal with the digestive problems. Pros:It works. Cons:Digestive problems, they seem to go away after a while though |

August 12, 2009 4:58 AM new on it since July. I take it once a day with food in the a.m. Knock wood I've felt a bit off but not as bad as the enclosures with it tells you may happen Pros:I had been so hungry and felt starved all of the time even when I ate and felt sick I was so full. Now after only a couple of weeks it seems that my appetite is gone and if anything I have to remember to eat and drink. Cons:A little bit queasy and headaches if I don't eat. I usually have a headache anyway so who can tell what this is from. If you don't eat your meals and snacks you will feel it. Last week was a stunner for me. All of a sudden I felt as though I could not move or talk etc. I must have been shutting down or something. I guess that means the pill is working and doing what it should and I need to do the same |
