Effective, but not for everyone.

Only effective on type 2 diabetes.

( Based on research info, not personal usage)

Pros

Cheap, affordable and effective in controlling type 2 diabetes if used early after diagnosis of such, and a diet plan is followed.

Cons

Metformin made me very sick for severl months, then found out that because my lactic acid levels are always high due to a mitochondrial mutation, I shouldn't have been taking this medication at all. Pay attention the the medication warnings and side effects.

Pros

Very inexpensive and prescribed frequently because it works for most people. Preferred oral treatment for Diabetes.

Cons

Just because it's cheap, beware of the adverse reactions.
