To the person with GI distress, make sure you take it with FOOD.....I myself have been bad lately as I have had a severe migraine and not eating right. My GI has not been happy but I know it is due to not eating breakfast with my meds. Prior to this I have had no issues since JULY

Pros:

For me it has lowered my bs from 7.4 to 7.2, end of July to end of Sept.

I have lost over 20 lbs and six inches now off waist. No scale but pants I had to lay down to zip are sliding down now :-)

Energy that before July......had ZERO of and could sleep 24/7 and be exhausted while sleeping

Lost the hunger I use to have ever after huge meals. I could have chewed my arms off now I don't get hungry which is a problem sometimes
Just feel so much better

Cons:

Not taking with my food DOES cause GI distress

Low BS IF you do not eat when you should and what you should that includes eating ENOUGH

I never thought I would EVER have trouble remembering to EAT or eating. I have all but lost my taste for carabs like breads, even fresh Italian bread which to me was heaven. I've tried sweets and not worth eating.....just doesn't taste the same. I think now I am doing what they say you should. I eat to live and no longer LIVE TO EAT.......I truly believe Metformin did this and my fear of drying. My friend buried her husband about a month ago from complications of diabetes. He never really paid attention.....everything we know can happen DID to him from losing his sight to finally death by kidney failure and amputations in-between. It's real folks and enough to scare this woman!

I wrote earlier but have an update.

Pros:

This med works great for me. My dr is happy too that she got a good med for me the first time. My gas seems to be gone for the most part. I think I have put on weight but I do not know if it is due to this med. I am just happy it works for me.

Cons:

none

I have been taking this for years and this is to take AFTER you have eatten not BEFORE. It helps to get your glouse into your cells. If you don't take it right it won't help you like expected. It has helped to lower my AC1 before taking this I was running 10 AC1 now I am down into my 7's.

Diagnosed end of July this year. My A1C has already gone down from 7.4 to 7.2 and my doc is thrilled. My BS was running 200 fasting and yesterday it was 94 after having a tiny Hersey Bar. I was delayed at lunch and it was all that was around. I am NOT a candy eater. Lost over 20 lbs, 5 and a half inches off waist so far and plan on more. Doc was going to double but so shocked with changes so fast he had to revise. EXERCISE and GOOD EATING is key with this.

Pros:

started working fast...my visits to the bathroom all night long stopped within a week or so, ENERGY I have not felt for I don't know how long and weight loss using this along with following the plan of eating right and exercise.

Cons:

Make sure you take it WITH a meal. I find even a half hour before eating and it will hit my intestines but with food I have no issues at all. Also, make sure you eat right including your snacks. I tend to run low BS especially after exercise. Watch yourself because it comes on fast. For me I can be fine then become textbook low BS in seconds if I keep going without eating. Take time for yourself......it is NOT an option. If you are driving you not only endanger yourself but EVERYONE around you.

I have been using Glyburide/Metformin for many years.

Pros:

Very inexpensive with my medicare provider.

Cons:

Used by itself, this medication does not control my BS. I am still using it but in combination with Byetta 5 and Actos.
