Add your reviewSometimes it works a little too much. Sometimes I take a half. Depend on what I eat. I have to start eating more, I guess.
ConsIt works for me.
I took Glyburide for a few years, and was recently taken off of it since I am now on insulin.
To be fair, it worked for me a little bit when I first started taking it, but eventually stopped working.
ProsIf you are newly diagnosed type 2 who still has some pancreatic function and low insulin resistance, Glyburide will probably work well for you.
ConsIf you have decreased pancreatic function and high insulin resistance (like I do), Glyburide may not be as effective for you.
I take glyburide along with byetta and Lantus. Glyburide does work, but it is wishy washy. One minute your sugar can be great, then all the sudden it can drop. It that can be quite scary.
ProsCan lower sugar
ConsCan lower sugar too much.
I have been on glyburide 4 pills a day forever it seem like. I also take metformin and Januvia.
ProsThis seems to work for me sometimes I only have to take 2 pills a day depending on my blood gloucose level.
ConsI don't like taking so many pills.
This medicine did not seem to work well for me. I was not on it very long
I took this medication whilw i was pregnant and i had alot of problems keeping my sugars at a healthy range. I would reccomend not taking this while pregnant and diagnosed with gestational diabetes, unless monitored extremely closly by your doctor.
ConsI found that my sugars would plumit way down to like 40 or 50. was a very scary experience while being pregnant.
Took glyburide for a few months and it did help to lower my blood sugar. Had to come off it due to frequent lows (50's). You do need to be careful when taking it and not skip meals and watch yourself if you eat less than normal or work out harder than normal.
ProsAs long as you can naturally produce insulin, it will bring your blood sugar down.
ConsStimulates insulin production regardless of whether you need it or not so can lead to low blood sugar if you are not careful. The usual, possible side effects for some.
