The Cozmo was the first pump to figure dosages for you. It has increments as small as 1/10 of a unit and can be personalized to individual needs.

This has been a wonderful starter pump! I've had mine for just over 3 years and only had to have 1 replacement pump. Customer service is excellent .. during regular business hours the call-wait time is amazing .. if its after-hours, your call is returned within 45 mins - 1 hour
ProsHaving the meter attached to the pump is great .. its one less thing to worry about and lose. Its also great having the pump already know what your BG is. It also will calculate your total carbs for you .. you just itemize your carbs and it will total it and calculate your bolus.
ConsVery thick .. having the meter attached makes it even thicker. Its hard to pull off with skinny jeans or a dress! Also, if dirt gets inbetween the pump and the meter, it will cause an error message and require you to take apart everything to fix it (big pain in the butt). Also the "touch bolus" button on the side gets pushed accidently sometimes - never has bolused me, just beeps like crazy because it thinks you're ignoring it.
This pump is fantastic! It has features that really simplify pump therapy. One of the biggest plus factors is the "Cozfoods" feature. It has a list of common foods (which you can add or subtract from) that you can select and it automatically delivers the insulin you need to cover the carbs! This makes things extremely easy, especially if you frequect certain restaraunts and eat many of the same foods.
It also has a "discinnect" which, if you dosconnect from the pump for any amount of time (up to two hours), will calculate how much insulin you need to compensate for the time off the pump.
ConsIt also has a "hypoglycemia" feature. It keeps track of how much insulin you have "on board" (already in your system" and, if you're giving yourself a bolus, warns if you might be giving yourself too much and possibly cause a hypoglycemic reaction.
Of course, it has all of the standard functions of an insulin pump. And I've just highlighted a few of the great features of this pump.
It only allows boluses in incriments of as little as .05 units. This means if you have carbs of say 33, you must enter a bolus of either 30 or 35 units (if your insulin to carb ratio is 1 unit per carbohydrate). Now this may be fixable, I still have to talk to the trainer about it.
The loading system is a little more involved than say, the MiniMed pump. But I think it's a small price to pay for the other conveniences and benefits.
