Omega 3

By Toma Added at March 17, 2008 Views 4,893 Reviews 57 4.51483 stars

There is one supplement that is probably the single best thing we can do for our health. That supplement is a high quality concentrated Omega 3 capsule. When selecting one there are three things to consider. 1. Have all the pollutants such as mercury, dioxins. etc. been removed. 2. Is it produced under pharmaceutical standards? 3. Is the EPA and DHA concentrated to at least 500 MG per 1000 mg capsule? (I.E. 400 mg EPA 200 mg DHA)

I have heard and read so many good things that this will do for you. My doctor told me I should be on it, not just for my diabetes, but for my heart and cholesterol as well.

Pros

Helps in so many areas of the body

Cons

Can be pricey for the higher quality stuff, but hey!! Something is better than nothing!!

Omega-3 fatty acids can be found in fish, such as salmon, tuna, and halibut, other seafood including algae and krill, some plants, and nut oils.
Omega-3 fatty acids reduce inflammation and may help lower risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, and arthritis.

I take it but don't know if it's doing anything yet, haven't had any blood tests since.

I've been taking a diabetic-friendly healthy chocolate with 200 mg of Omega-3s from blue-gree algae. Extremely good Belgian chocolate. It's excellent!

My doctor is a certified diabetes specialist and he said that I should definitely be taking this supplement. I get mine from Andrew Lessman on HSN. It also helps "lube" your joints

This also for asthma. This helps the lungs. My husband take one almost everyday. He doesn't have anything. He just like healthy foods.

Pros

I just eat the food with omega-3. It's still a good source either way.

Cons

None

I have been taking it for several months. Not sure if it helps with blood sugar or not but my last blood work my HDL was 60. I used to take 2 soft gels. A few weeks ago I started to read Toma Grubs book and decided I needed to take 3. 2 only got me 600 mg of the EPA and DHA and Toma recommends 1000 per day. I buy it at Bjs cheap and if I can find it someplace else with more of the EPA and DHA I will buy it.
