It works good for me now that I'm not as insulin intolerant as I was about a year and a half ago.

Pros:

You only have to take it once a day.

Cons:

I have none.

I too gained weight while on Lantus, but I loved the way it worked for me! It stabilzied my BS better than anything else. I was still taking other insulin with it, but I wouldn't go back to the regimen without Lantus! Right now I just need a doctor to listen and pay attention long enough to put me on something! My BS are out of control! I miss Lantus!
