July 28, 2009 3:44 AM In May my doctor switched me (back) to Lantus after having been on Levemir for about a year. I split my dose so that I take one first thing and one with dinner. I am not sure that the Lantus is better than the Levemir... I do tend to have fewer episodes of low blood sugar at night, but on a few occasions I have dropped so low that I was nearly incoherent. Yikes!
Fairly even release. Fewer lows at night. Cons:Sometimes burns when going in. |

July 20, 2009 1:37 PM I've been on Lantus for so long I can't even remember. Most of the time it works very well for me. I have experienced severe low's that will knock you on your fanny. I have learned to adjust my dose according to what my readings are. Pros:It will do it's job, at the same time you have to take responsibilty in doing what the Dr. order's Cons:Can burn intensely if you inject it to fast. The Doctor' has incressed my dose to 77 and that is way to much |

July 14, 2009 9:39 PM I USE LANTUS EVERY NIGHT. IT WORKS WONDERS. I ALSO USE THE SOLOSTAR PEN. IT IS EASIER AND IT DOESN'T HURT LIKE THE NEEDLES. BUT I TEND TO NOT TAKE MY SUGAR LIKE I NEED TO. IS THERE A EASY WAY TO REMIND MYSELF TO DO IT? Pros:DOESN'T HURT AND IT TAKES LESS TIME Cons:THERE IS NONE FOR ME |

July 8, 2009 2:47 PM DOCTOR PUT ME ON LANTUS MAY 2009. TAKE 50 UNITS IN THE MORNING DAILY. ALSO TAKE GLUCOPHAGE 750 ( 2 PILLS AT NIGHT). WAS PUT ON THIS BECAUSE MY MORNINGS READINGS WAS TOO HIGH, 250+. Pros:EASY TO ADMINISTER. USE THE SOLOSTAR PEN. I LIKE THAT THE PENS ARE DISPOSABLE, AND THE DIAL IS EASY TO READ. Cons:MY APPETITE HAS INCREASED. THIS IS CAUSING ME TO GAIN WEIGHT. I HAD LOSS WEIGHT, WHICH WAS A DIFFICULT TASK. NOW I DON'T WANT TO GAIN IT ALL BACK. ANY SUGGESTIONS ON HOW I CAN CONTINUE TO LOSE WEIGHT WHILE TAKING LANTUS SOLOSTAR? |
