June 20, 2008 10:33 AM I have been using this product for two years maybe a little longer now and it has worked very well for me. I still get lows but not as often and no more at night. Which is great. Pros:Keeps my nubers at a good level. Mornings are between 80-100. Cons:none |

June 13, 2008 6:08 PM I have been on Lantus for almost 2 years now. It is the best thing that has happened to me since being diagnosed. My major problem was the "dawn phenomenon" with morning fasting blood glucose levels always between 150 and 200. After getting the dosage right with Lantus, no more dawn phenomenon. My morning fasting blood glucose reading is now between 80 and 117. Also, I inject at night right before bedtime. It seems to last the full 24 hrs for me. Pros:Once a day injection keeps blood glucose levels more even. Cons:Burns a little when injected, lumps under skin (I usually use the stomach area. A diabetic counselor told me that it gets into your body faster.) Also, I do suffer morning and late afternoon blood sugar crashes, so I always carry glucose tablets with me and keep snacks at my desk. |

June 11, 2008 3:34 PM My doctor put me on this as my basal insulin on my diagosis of type 1 diabetes on 5/22/08, since my glucose levels were way out of line. Pros:Since starting Lantus, I have found my glucose levels seem to be normalizing. I can only say good things about this insulin. Cons:None at all. |

May 18, 2008 7:28 AM I had problems with my blood sugar rising during the night, usualy around 4 AM. When I started Lantus, this helped with that problem greatly. Fortunately with weight loss and diet, I don't use any injections anymore. Pros:Worked consistently well for me. My sugar levels had less of the high upswings after meals. Cons:None |
