This product works well for me.
I take it once a day @ bedtime.
It manages my blood sugar very well.

Pros:

Taking it once a day is a plus

Cons:

Most of the time my sugar level is extremely low in thw mornings. To remedy this, I try to eat a little something before gong to bed.

I have never injected into my buttocks, but I do use it before bed everynight. I love it!! It brought my fasting levels from 245 in the mornings to 110.

Pros:

Once a day, helps with my base levels.

Cons:

Can't mix it.

Less of those crazy peaks!

Pros:

Doesn't Peak like NPH. Long lasting.

Cons:

The 20-24 hour release. If you are more on the 20 hour side of it, it requires a split shot. Add to that the fact that you can't/shouldn't mix it with other insulin types and you're looking at a whole lot of shots. Also, if you misdose, you could be in for a rough ride.
