ProsThe least expensive meter over the long term. Start-up cost is about $18.00 for the meter and 20 strips. Lancets are $4 for 100.
ConsNo computer port.
cost effective,basic,
ConsIf you buy supplies out of pocket it will help you
save. Its easy to use for travel. Gives information we need each day.
If you use a computer program to chart your
daily numbers and averages its not for you-
no computer port.
I like this meter due to the fact that it is cheap and it is easy to use
Works great
ProsCheaper price of any, test strips are also very affordable
ConsIf your doctor requires you to have a computer reading meter, this will not work.
HAve used for 2 years
ProsCheap Strips available at any sams or walmart nationwide
Consyou have to buy from walmart or sams
This meter is small and really easy to store when on the go.
Pros5 second test results.
ConsStores many results.
Strips are really annoying to me.
Very cost effective for those without insurance.
ProsSmall amount of blood needed. Strips very affordable. Easy to test, fast results.
ConsOnly available at Sams Club and Walmart.
I am hesitant to give it a thumbs up. We are on our second meter the first sent back per Company due to unrealistic results. Here's the bombshell for me. The Control Solution is back ordered and has been since our purchase.
ProsInexpensive/fast and cheap strips
ConsNo way to do a Control test makes it a glorified paperweight. I asked the Company to elevate this issue, as to not cause a stir in the DC.
By far the most effecient for its price. The test strips are the cheapest that I have found. I have not had any problems with it, been using it since November 2008.
ProsBudget friendly, not hard to use.
ConsI have nothing negative to say about it
This is one of my backup meters & I llke it.
ProsSeems to be reliable & has a fast result time. The strips are less expensive than most.
ConsThe strips are real tiny and sometimes my fingers can't maneuver them.
love mine.
Proseasy to use
Conscheaper strips
easy to read
use my old lancet it hurts less.
I have used the Relion meter for about two years. I am allowed a limited number of tests each day by my doctor. If I test another 4 times per day I have to buy my own strips. Strips for my Free Style Lite cost three times as much.
ProsVery reliable.
ConsStrips are only 42 cents each in my area.
each strip is individually wrapped. handling is much easier without spilling.
Results agree closely with my Free Style meter.
No link up with a computer.
