Add your reviewThe AccuChek Aviva is an excellent meter that is small, quick, and easy to use, but it is technologically behind the times (limited connectivity and data management options).
thats just cause to get it be cause it comes from the USA
It now comes with a prescription card that you can get your strips for $15 now. I am going to change to this one just for that. I'm glad to hear it is a good meter as well. I also like that it is 100% made in the USA.
If you don't have insurance you can buy 100 of these strips at
TotalDiabetes Supply.com for $ 53.99. Shipping is free if your order is over $ 99.00. Hope this helps someone
I just started using this meter. I used One Touch Ultra Smart before and it seemed to waste a lot of strips due to error messages. I really like the lancing device, it makes it a lot easier to change lancets. With other meters I used to change lancets every few days.
I got mine several years ago from a Rep from the makers of Accu-Chek at one my support group meetings. I love it never had any problems with it
ProsSmall blood sample and only 5 seconds for the reading.
Consnone
i have used this meter for several years and have not had any problems with it
Prosexcellent meter
Consnone
I have had mine for over 5 years and haven't had many problems.
ConsIf the meter gets too cold it will not work. When the test strips expire you can't use them at all.
forgot to add they now have a program to reduce cost of test strips to $15 for those with insurance coverage.

Prosgreat meter and they save money on strips
love this meter and the multi-click lancet device that used to come with it. (the lancet device alone is worth the purchase price)

none so far…except that it is "tier 3" or non-preferred by my insurance.
I just received one of these in the mail.
ProsNeeds only a small amount of blood, and
quick results.
Easy to use, quick result. Replaces their
ConsAdvantage meter which is being retired.

This is 1 of 3 or 4 that I switch out between. Excellent meter.
It was my first meter. I like the fact that I can test and be done in less than a minute.
ProsIt is easy to use, compact, and discreet. 6 test sites and 5 seconds for results w/micro liters. Computer capabilities for downloading records and updating meter.
I LOVE my meter.
Proseverything there together in case, the pen lancet is quick to use, no loading evrytime you test.
ConsNone
works very well. I used a different one first and this one is much better.
Prosquick with a small sample
Used at least over the last 6 months. Switched from Breeze2.
ProsSmaller blood sample required. Nicer to hold in hand.
ConsHealth insurance will no longer cover strips. Cost of strips is expensive but I saw very little cost difference when compared to other big name brands.
Easy to use easy to load, and easy to read meter.
ConsJust wish the strips didn't cost so much, but we got to have them to go along with the meter. Worth the money.
this is my firs meter but I have had no problems with it.
Proseasy to use, small
Since this is the first meter, it's hard to say how it compaires to other types. I like it, very easy to use.
