Add your reviewI like this one because of the ease to use, and such a small sample is needed.
This is the third meter I tried. It works fine and as far as expense it's cheaper for test strips than others I tried.
ProsPrice
like this meter. very affordable
I used this meter for 4 years and never had a problem with it
This was my first meter. I found the amount of blood I could get from a prick varied, and the meter would sometimes give different readings depending on how much blood got on the "window" area of the strip. I tried the "alternate site testing" option, but the lancing device could never draw up enough blood for the monitor. After a bit under a year, it started having trouble accepting the strips completely.
ProsIt has very inexpensive supplies for a name-brand meter, and a quick response. It also supports alternate site testing (forearm).
ConsReadings varied depending on how full one could get the strip. Reading method (photoluminescence?) is supposed to be the least accurate of the three main methods used. After a bit under a year, the device started having trouble accepting the strips completely. Also, its alternate-site testing option never worked correctly for me.
I like this meter a lot—I try various types but this is the only one I have more than one of.
Prosquick results, accurate, inexpensive test strips
