Loved mine. Price is very good. Looks like a little film canister with an LED screen on top. 50 strips and when strips are gone you toss the whole thing away. Good for travel

Cons

I hate throwing stuff away! LOL

Pros

It is a can of strips with a meter in the cap of the can. Does 50 test and comes with 50 strips.

WAY smaller than a One Touch Mini. So it is way cooler.

We got our hands on Sidekick meters and strips made Home Diagnostics in Fort Lauderdale and sold at CVS. It's like an active D family's dream (OK, a cure would be a dream so keep up with the JDRF walks.)

OK, the SideKick may not be a full dream, maybe a daydream. It is a small easy-to-tote-around meter and that is cool enough for now. All you need is a lancing device. With one, this makes it a lot easier to do on the go testing. Just pop it in your cargo shorts.

I would link a photo but that apparently isn't a function in this beta of the site.

Needless to say the insurance company is balking, nothing new there. Dudes, these things are cheaper than the strips we normally use, hello? Save a buck! Nope! No coverage. They like to buy the more expensive strips. Smart, huh? Any wonder why heath care is a mess?

It is still worth ponying up the cash for one of these if you are active. They are much easier to deal with while out and about.

Tested it head to head with a One Touch Ultra Smart and the numbers were right on top of each other.

Cons

On the down side, it does store data but you can't download data to the PC. I think that is a fair trade off for small and easy to carry. The issue is BG and avoiding lows.

It dies after 50 - 52 test so you cant reload strips. Bummer. It's still a cool little meter.
