Just in case anyone has issues like I do. I had my glucose checked at Little Clinic yesterday because they are doing free screenings and I like to see what they get for readings. It is where I shop. Anyway, I have not been able to get blood out of the side of my finger and get little out of the pad. I thought it was the lancing device but now I believe it is ME.....She tried several times before she got enough for BS and Cholesterol

Pros:

easy to use and can use other areas

Cons:

sometimes doesn't spring load and you must redo

I have been using this lancet device for years.

Pros:

Though I use an ACCU-Chek compact meter, I prefer the FreeStyle Lancet device. It's easier to use and I like that I can put the twist off top back on the needle once it's used.

I am new at this and just received my meter the Freestyle Lite when I attended a health fair.

I seem to have issues getting blood out of the side of my finger which is suppose to be less painful. This has 5 levels so I am not sure if I need a higher number. I tried numbers one and two and they did not draw blood from the side

Pros:

easy to use
fits in case with meter and supplies
various levels and works on alternate sites

not painful, I am a wimp FYI

Cons:

not sure what numbers to use for my forearm and side of finger

A nice lancing device. Small, yet very little pain. I like the fact that I can also use it on my arm instead of fingers.

Pros:

Small, can use on arm.

Cons:

none

Pros:

Good depth control and adaquate blood drop. Little pain associated with it.

I have never used another lancing device, so I don't know if there is a better one or not. I do really like the freestyle one that I have though. I have tried it on my arm once, but didn't draw very much blook, so haven't tried it since.
