I use the multi lancet - my isurance pays for all of my testing supplies and the needles. I love the fact that i can go all day with one barrel. I went out and bought another for when i am going away over night.

Great idea if it worked! Pro:Convenience; Cons: More expensive & insurance balks at payment!; Wheel jams easily & wastes lancets when you can't turn the wheel backwards to use them after jamming;

the only problem with the multi lancets (barrel) is the cost of them ($29.00 liberty medical). love it when you dont have to change lancets all the time.

Pros

The first pro and what I consider the most important pro is the customer service. Their service is first rate. Last year I made a mistake of cleaning my lancet devise with accetone solution instead of Alcohol. The accetone melted the end of my device making it unsable. I called the company and spoke to a very helpful gentleman who promise to get me a new one out free of charge in 3 - 5 days. The only mistake he made was it was a holiday weekend coming up and he did not account for their wharehouse being closed. I was promised delivery on the Wednesday after the Monday holiday. He even checked to see if UPS worked on Saturday to make sure I would have a new device by 12:30PM on Saturday. Well needless to say I was upset at not getting my new device. I called them back on the Tuesday and they shipped me a new device the same day for overnight delivery. That one arrived except it did not have the clear top to permit different site testing. I called them again and they called around my home town to see if they could find a pharmacy that I could get one from then they would replace the pharmacy's stock. In the meantime I received another lancet with the clear top. So now I have 3 new devices and 2 cllear tops. When I asked about paying for them they told me there would be no charge for these items. I love the ability of changing sites to do my testing plus it comes with two different types of lancets. One is called the Accu chek Multiclix which is a wheel with 6 usues and then they have the Accu chek Softclix with is a single use lancet and even though the pharmacy lets me it is a thicker lancet, I find that it does not hurt as much as the other lancets out there. They also have a new meter out called the Accu-Chek Compact Plus Meter. What I like about this one is the lancet device can be used while it is attached to the meter or you can use it separate from the meter. If you get the chance you really should check out the Accu-chek meter.

Cons

I really don't have any cons, except to say my insurance will only pay for one box of strips per month so I have to buy mine from a medical supply company. One day I got a call from them telling me my insurance company was lowering my co-pay so they were changing me to a different meter called Contour TS. So I am not using the Accu Check meter anymore but I can still usr the lancets & device. I wished someone had asked me if I wanted to change meters but it seems as though I was not given any say in the matter.
