AC1 Now Self Check

By edvel54 Added at June 6 Views 947 Reviews 16 4.3487 stars

Bayer's A1CNow® SELFCHECK provides you with a simple way to know how well you are doing with your diabetes in between doctor visits. A1C is a 2-3 month indication of average blood glucose. Even small changes in your A1C can mean big changes in your risk for serious complications. Your A1C can help your healthcare team fine tune your diabetes management plan. Bayer's A1CNow® SELFCHECK, when used in conjunction with Bayer's CONTOUR® or BREEZE®2 blood glucose meters and regular doctor visits, lets you know where you stand, so you can get to where you need to be.

I tried the A1C now. My results from the dr. were 5.5, and with this 5.6. I checked it at home the same day as the lab work was done. There is another test in the box, and the next time I need blood work, I will check it again. With the 1st test anyway, I am happy with the accuracy.
Got it at CVS. Reg $30, on sale for $20, had a coupon for $10 off. Not bad.

I've used two kinds. One from WalMart is about $10 and has results by email so you can print and save.
Bayer has one that is about $23/2 tests as sold at Longs. It gives IMMEDIATE results (4 minutes) but you have to keep your own records.

not worth the cost since the majority of doctors will tell you that you only need A1c check time a year

I have been hoping someone would know if something like this is out there for us. Thanks so much. I hope it doesn't cost to much but will look into it for sure.

I have been using the Bayer Contour since I was diagnosed and find it to be running in line with the Dr's office, so no problems for me…

I had a TRUE TEST Monitor but it apparently wasn't accurate, and my Dr gave me the Bayer Contour. I like it but I haven' been testing long enough to know how accurate

I live in the west and they are at Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, K-mart. They right on the shelf with other diabetes supplies..no prescription needed. You can also go to www.simplewins.com which is the Bayer site and look for the stores in your area
