The Animas PING is not tubeless. Though it is said that by the end of this year, the PING will also have a CGM (continuous glucose management) in addition/options. I am soooo happy with the PING, I am due for a new insulin pump very soon and will be staying with the Animas insulin pumps.

Animas Corp is the maker of the One Touch PING. Animas has teamed up with Johnson & Johnson who makes the One Touch meters to come up with a meter and pump combo. It is like have a insulin pump with a meter and remote control. Almost everything is done from here. The only thing not done by the meter remote is cartridge changes, down loads, and other pump info. That is all done with the pump. The pump even comes with cool vibrant aray of colored skins to protect it from getting scratched and dinged up. I love this insulin pump compared to the others i have looked at. Animas has even teamed up with Dexcom and from what I heard, by the end of this year, they will have team the Dexcom 7 up with the PING as well for a CGM. I will never trade for a different pump … Good Luck to you!!!

is that the name of the insulin pump?? I have never heard of that one. I am on the Medtronic and I do like it except when I go to the pool I bring a ziplock bag, a few towels just to cover up the pump when I take it off to go in the pool. I get scared it's going to get wet and I wan't have a pump!! I am going to check this one out thanks

Pros

This insulin pump is easy to use. You can go swimming and shower with this pump on. They have a wide variety of skins you can interchange to protect you pump from damage. They have the insets (catheters) in cool coolers to choice. You can manage your diabetes from your PC by downloading. You can even personalize your alarm tones as well. Very shock resistant!!! The remote is very similar to One Touch Ultra/Ultra Smart. If you loose remote, the pump is still functional.

Cons

The meter remote does not have a color view screen like the pump. Along with the fact, the remote is not waterproof.
