I was put on this medication in the early 1980's to control my seizures. It made me stop smoking on the spot! I lit up a cigarette and first puff, had to put it out cuz I got sick. I was off the med. briefly and never started smoking again.

Pros Good for my seizures Cons Have to have blood levels done every so often to make sure it is not damaging my liver. Very expensive

After reading the adverse reactions I wasn't sure I wanted to take the drug, but Topamax certainly wasn't working. However, I began, and have been pratically headache-free unless I remain in bed too long after waking up. Pros Reduced occurrence of migraines, even when faced with personal triggers. Seems to have a glucose-lowering effect, as my fasting glucoses are now usually in the 80-90 range rather than between 90 and 115. Cons None, so far (been taking it for 1 month).
