I just got mine the other day and am really liking it a lot. I like that my mom and I can share strips if we need to now, but our meters are different colors so they don't get mixed up. It takes a small sample of blood and so far it seems to be pretty accurate with my other meter. I have not tested it against my doctors, but I will in May when I go in for my visit.

This meter had ratings equalling the best at, I believe, Consumers Report, so I bought it.

Pros

Very inexpensive at $8.00 and strips are $0.39 each

Cons

I use in forearm. This is petty, but the "pricker" does not shoot the needle straight. Sometimes the stick is so near the clear cover that I smear and spoil the sample.

observed it's use with my step mother in law who is hypoglycemic. Her insurance doesn't cover glucometer supplies for her condition.

Pros

inexpensive meter, inexpensive strips, good turn around time for results, seemingly accurate results

Cons

can only be found at Walmart

Pros

This is my meter I keep at work for those high's and low's that can occur during the day. It's small and convenient. Very nice.

Cons

The downside is the 7 seconds it takes to give results but in this fast paced world sometimes it's good to slow down a little.
