Just had surgery on Friday and had full plates put on top and bottom. After broken teeth for many years, adv gum disease and 'uncontrolled' bs I really didn't have a choice in the matter. I know it'll take a while to get used to them, but it beats the alternative if it'll help keep my bs down.

Pros

No more battling infections or broken teeth.

Having my teeth pulled was the biggest mistake I ever made. I would have rather just dealt with the pain. When my teeth were pulled it took forever to heal. I cant seem to get dentures that fit. They gag me when I wear them.

I had my teeth all pulled out back in the Early 90's and got dentures from a Dentist in the Flint, Michigan area but he never had time to adjust them for me after the first return appointment. So I have been with out them for over 10 years now and can eat anything but raw carrots that are not shaved for easier eating.

Pros

Good if you have a good Dentist.
Our Son Billy has 2 sets one that is surgical and one perminent set he has had only good luck out of his does not use any thing to keep them in his mouth, looking at him you cant even tell they are Dentures.

Cons

Bill got his Dentures in Feb. The surgical ones fit like a dream and then they started to make them his perminent ones and now they fall out and hurt his gums.

I have a full set of dentures. I HATE them ! I have to use goopy stuff just to keep them in, yet alone eat. The top ones aren't as bad, but the bottoms, the dentist says my ledge isn't , I guess you would say high enough to keep them in.

Pros

No more terrible pain from real teeth.

Cons

Can't eat anything I like to without a big problem. Can't taste food the same way.Feels like my mouth is full of teeth. To get implants to take care of bottom teeth is like 2000.00 per implant and I would need at least 2 if not 3.

I am MISS VAIN
I had my upper plate put in right after extractions.same day. The thought of people seeing me with no teeth was over whelming. This was40 yrs ago!!

Pros

LOOKING GOOD

Cons

Now they are trying to get a bottom plate because my bottom teeth are going bad.
Food doesn't taste as good as it should anyway. I feel getting a full set will hinder my taste even further.

I guess I am the odd ball here. lol For some darn reson I can not get use to mine. I have attempt numerous times.

Pros

Don't get me wrong they are great to help eat some foods of course, but also a HUGE thing is self esteem. I really wish I could get into mine just for that reason at least let alone eatting!

Cons

Of course using them and ya have something chewy and they get stuck yanking on them, making it feel awful…lol And just having to mess with them.

Teeth were pulling away from my gums so I had peridontal disease…tried keeping them for a while but got tired of the constant pain of toothaches so had them all pulled. The dentist I had did not fit me properly so I don't like the dentures I have but the pain is gone.

Pros

No more pain.

Cons

No teeth and dentures don't fit..but I can get new ones…maybe they will fit.

I was the same way Charish. It took me awhile to learn how to eat.

I've had a partial for some years now and when I first got it I gagged everyday. I had to make three trips to my dentist until we finally got it where I wouldn't have that reaction.
