this sounds gross- but try it!! when i make pasta, i put cinnamon in it… pasta, beef, tomatoes sauce, peppers, and onions… with cinnamon. it helps lower your bs a little- considering pasta makes it go way up anyway, thats a pretty good thing ;) and it actually tastes really good!!!
There are many kinds of cinnamon and for your blood sugar and blood make up, they could have too much good or not so good. The ones I know about are; Cinnamon Extract and Full Spectrum Cinnamon although Cinnulin PF could be better for me which I am going to try out very soon and hopefully get some good results.
Pros
If you have the right cinnamon for your own blood sugar, you will be happy, if not, you might have to spend more money, but there are quality websites which have stuffy information from those who know more than more than I do to see what they have found out through experimenting with it. Please be careful and check your blood sugar so if it is working very good, you don't have it low.
Cons
I don't see any negative effects although it might not be as effective for you as it is for me. I love the smell of the stronger kinds and if you like to cook, the stronger kinds would be best if it can be used for making a healthier Apple Pie. If you have tried the better cinnamon for blood sugar for an apple pie please share that.
I have taken a few capsules of cinnamon when I'm away from my shot (I'm currently on Symlin and Victoza) and have a carb filled meal and it has helped.
I have heard that it lowers the BS and the cholesterol as well. I am taking a 500mg capsule a day because I don't always remember to use it in my foods.
Pros
It seems to help with my BS levels, will have to see about cholesterol when I see doc. It has not made me retain water
I take one 1000 mg cinnamon capsule every day and it takes 20 - 40 points off my BS levels easily.
Pros
Capsules are wonderful! You couldn't eat enough or drink enough to get thins much I don't think. If you are not getting any results, try taking the capsules. You probably just are not getting enough.
