My doctor have me taking R and N. I take R when I don't eat feel like eating. I take both of them when I am plannung on eating. I know it sounds complicated but it works best for me.

You would have to check bg and watch no matter which insulin you are taking. Fast acting insulin, taken before a meal can be especially dangerous if taken and the meal not eaten or delayed as the bg can fall very fast.

This is why all insulin users must be careful and follow their diet and usage always.
