Although one expects hypoglycemic episodes to be accompanied by the typical symptoms (e.g., tremor, sweating, palpitations, etc.), this is not always the case. When hypoglycemia occurs in the absence of such symptoms it is called ''hypoglycemic unawareness''. Especially in people with long-standing type 1 diabetes and those who attempt to maintain glucose levels which are closer to normal, hypoglycemic unawareness is common.

I am a hypoglycemic. My symptoms are very severe and I've got to be really careful. Hypoglycemia is really scary and one of the reasons I don't really like to drive. Despite your best efforts to maintain your blood sugar levels, a hypoglycemic episode can still happen.

thats me, I find it hard to believe but I don't feel any different when I have a 350 or a 50 blood glucose reading. My sister used to pass out when she went below 50 and couldn't tell it was coming either. Wonder why that is?
