There have been reviews of apple cider vinegar on this website.
While many of the folk medicine uses of vinegar are unproven (or were disproved), a few do have a medical research backing them up. Some small studies have hinted that apple cider vinegar could help with several conditions, such as diabetes and obesity.
So what do the editors of WebMD have to say and warn us about the possible side effects of this practice.

I would like to stick my nose in here, to let you all know, if not for diabetic issues, that a spoonful of apple cider vinegar in 6 oz water is EXCELLENT for strep throat relief and shortens it tremendously. Our family has used it for 18 years. I never tried the pills. My body is a kidney stone manufacturing machine, as the Dr has told me. For that issue, when I feel one coming on, and I do know how to tell, I drink a gallon of ocean spray cranberry juice over three days. It literally disolves kidney stones for me, no more operations. I shall try the testing for lower blood glucose using cider vinegar now, since I have progressed to insulin and numbers still are rather high.

I've taken apple cider vinegar pills for years, and it really helps me with my blood sugar, as well as weight loss

@ reddiva: It MAY work for you.

Each Person with Diabetes is affected differently by the same substances. It may work for you, It does work for me a little bit.

The only way to tell is to first take a Blood glucose reading as a baseline reading, take a spoonful of vinegar and put it in a glass of water to cut the taste, and then after 2 hours test again. If it works for you your BG numbers should go down.

I use basalmic vinagarette instead of salad dressing on my salads. I use red wine vinegar occasionally too. The only way you will know if it works for YOU and YOUR metabolism is try it and do the test I outlined above.

I heard that vinegar is good for the body. It helps make it clean. At the same time, one needs to be careful. Moderation is the key
